The show started in June 2014 with hosts Poetic Jemz & Russeni, on the first ever show they were joined by talented Jolade, Errol McGlashan aka Uncle Errol and the young Ms Sade as guests. in the upcoming months whilst the show was on Edge FM, the likes of Dean Atta, Sara Hirsch, Nego True, Emmanuel Speaks, JayO, I & Ideal, Jonas McCloud, Nat Nye, Amen Noir, Ragz CV, Mike Galsworthy, Shareefa Energy, Emma Ako, Bunmi Hazzan, Mell Nyoko, Jess Espin, Farida Momtaz, Tega Akpod, Anthony Lyrics, Tony Supreme, Samuel King, Theresa Lola & Word on the Curb all appeared as guests on the show.
After a little hiatus, the show returned on a new station and with a new name. Now hosted by Sinclair Farrell, the Poets and Poetry radio show was first aired on Power Xtra Radio on Monday 6th April 2015. The first ever show on the station featured guests, Devika Seasons & Kush. It has since featured guests including Lionheart, Dylema, Boy Nash, Henry Stone, Matt Matthews, Mina West, Minkles, K Tellz, Klastro, Nuit Noire, Poet Tyro, KidWdnr, Mungz Media, Callum Barwick, Lenea Herew & Mellow 9 + more.
The show returned in late February 2016 after a 2 month new year break. The 1st guest of the year was in April, which was also in the week/month of the 1st birthday of the show on Power Xtra Radio. The guest was M.Artz. A guest on the show on Monday 4th April 2016. Other guests since the show returned in 2016 have included Ismael Musoke, Lauren Kaye, Matt Chamberlain Marcus Indelible,The Truth Poet, Raphael Blake, Kay Riley, as well as the founders of the S & K Prokect, Malakai Sargeant & Steven Kavuma. The show's stint on Power Xtra Radio ended in August 2016, it would return after a few months off the air on another station in January 2017.
The show returned on new years day, after being off air for the last few months of 2016. Now on Innov8 Radio, the first guests of the year were two members of London based poetry collective, Spit The Atom. Gabriel Akamo & Tatenda Matsvai, joined host Sinclair Farrell for a lively chat/interview to kick off the beginning of a new journey.
After the initial show in January, it would then return for a weekly slot on Innov8 in April. The first guests of the month were spoken word artist, C.A.L.M & young poet Arnaud Pepin (who featured as reviewer on the show) reviewing a selection of spoken word releases. Another guest who featured on the show during the month, was actress, writer & poet Jade Moira Lawrence. Jade made her performance debut on the show performing some of her poetry for the first ever time. Young spoken word artist, Yossi featured on the show in June.
